Editorial Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Editorial independence

Advertisers, partners and affiliate programs do not influence our figures, rankings or conclusions. We do not accept payment to change a number or a recommendation.

Sourcing standards

We prefer primary and official sources such as government agencies, regulators and manufacturers. We name sources on the page, and we do not publish figures we cannot trace.

Fact checking

Before publishing, an editor checks each figure against its source, confirms the math and reviews the page for clarity and accuracy.

AI-assisted drafting

Some drafts may be created with the help of AI tools. Every page is edited and fact-checked by a human before it is published. AI is not used as a source of facts.

Updates

We review time-sensitive pages on a regular schedule, at least quarterly for cost figures. Each page shows when it was last updated.

Corrections

When we confirm an error, we fix it promptly and note significant corrections on the page. To report a problem, use our contact page.
